Description of the Insulation Jacket

This first test insulation jacket was made from pre-quilted Primaloft PL1 of nominal thickness 5/8" (ugh....) and nominal weight 4 oz/yd2 grade - which is 133 gm/m2 - simply by marking out pieces according to the pattern for Envelope (B), cutting them out with a bit of margin left around the edges, and then sewing them roughly together by hand. Primaloft is not suitable for passing through an ordinary sewing machine because it quickly clogs the foot. No covering was laid upon the material other than the very light and porous batt supplied as pre-quilting.
